I recently read this book Gandhiji’r Apokormo (Misdeeds of Gandhiji). It’s just around a 150-page book so anyone who truly wants to know the truth behind the Mahatma character can grab it by a mere hundred rupees. A Bengali book though – there may be english versions available like ‘White Tiger’.
I had earlier written on Gandhiji – here. I’m not a big admirer of this character and neither is the author – Shri Alokkrishna Chakraborty. The author has published many research papers on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and subsequently had managed to unveil the truth beneath the crapet for a man who is worshiped all around India as an Avataar or a God.
I do not want to list down the facts the author has used for justification of what he claims ‘hypocrisy’ of the Gandhian character, but admittedly the book made for a nice read. The only prerequisite for reading this book is an open mind – free from all sorts of bias. I agree with the author on multiple facets like, the problem with us mainly lies in ignoring facts and worshiping lies. We tend to ignore pages that defame the people we worship as heroes. Why can’t we live on facts and not on here-say, or even faith?
For instance, publication of this book raised controversies. In Silliguri there were struggles, arrests, police-interference and so on…for the ruling party thought publication of this book purposely and deliberately defamed Gandhi – our very own Bapu. Let me stop over here. Perhaps it is one of the shortest posts that I’ve written in recent times. Anyway, let the reader find out for himself about this book and more on Gandhiji.
