Go through the two links, Link 1 and Link 2. I’ll be giving one more in this post, but before that let’s first digest the reality facts about India. One of my Facebook friends supplied me with these two links (of course the later one is out on Telegraph). Again I know there will be very few genuine responses to this post as this is serious stuff – more serious than IPL matches. Well the only thing that you happen to get on television bengali channels is IPL-V, Mamata Banerjee and Pranab Mukhopadhay. As if India is well at peace with the other more graver topics like Food poisoning, Economy and – hold your breath – social conditions. That’s right, now more and more evil trends has started creeping in our Modern Society – that’s how modern we actually are. In context of this, my third link – Link 3! Read this Blog post and reflect! The author asks at one place if the remaining 47% can change the existing system or not. What’s your vote? I personally see dark glimpses of the future of this society. This society takes into account whether you are an atheist or not, whether you love to drive your bikes in utter riff-raff fashion, whether you can shoot out a few abusive words at your elders every now and then, whether you have fifty girlfriends or not, whether you smoke from your high-school or not and if and only if all the answers are in the affirmative – you get to be considered as a “cool” guy. This society does not take into concern if it’s diving to one of it’s gravest phases of all times – be it economic-wise or socially or academically, politically or in whatever fashion. Here’s an example of such “coolnes”… [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5LAwkPY1P4]Many a great men have called our youth to come forward and lend their helping hands for developing this society. Our youth rarely has time from their “busy” schedule of exams, semesters and projects. Only thing of curiosity is that they find enough and more time for Facebook, KFC and “adda” (gossips). Talk of anything more sensible – they have their assignments to complete! Literate India! Liberate India! Save India! Our minister officials are in deep hibernation. A brewing concept of Citizens Government is developing (I’m a young citizen, and I take pride in having taken part in the development of the same). Hopefully it can take the Government to at least be honest to its citizens, whichever political party rules – it’s the common people who suffer! Look at the above picture and think. Take the case of Indian Railways – Link. Another survey of the same – Link. With all this, has anyone ever wondered what is going to become of this country finally? Whether there are shopping malls or not, whether we have night clubs (along with regular customers) springing up in every corner of this city, India remains where it was ten years back.
Food For Thought
We, as citizens, what can we do to help prevent this? This is a very serious issue that has engulfed India from all corners and ends. I hate criticism without suggestions, so with the above problems at hand, what’s your suggestion or take? The root supposedly lies at the base of our governance system – corruption. As long as there is corruption, we will suffer. But the question is can we uproot corruption at one shot? Is it possible to “change” this system of “loot” forever suddenly? Maybe no, we may require another 50 years, but what do we do under the assumption that we have to live with corruption? Some days back I criticized the education system of our country, and demanded its complete change. Over here – let’s take one issue at a time. For those who are dazzled in flames of social evil like wife beating and many more like superstitions, blind beliefs, they never expect us to save them, they believe what they do is the right thing, they are blinded. The NGO’s and other social organisations need to get their hands on these issues. Social workers should erode away these evils and above all – the village/mohalla heads need to cooperate. For the railway business, the Government should understand them better, think about the rest for yourselves. For those who have taken time to go through my earlier Food for thought’s – I and II, know that I do not provide complete solutions to all the problems…Think…think…Think!
